NetXL for Broadband (DSL)

NetXL for broadband (DSL) is free to all MVDSL subscribers. We offer it as another tool to help improve your safety on the Internet. It is estimated that 70% of home computers have spyware on them. We strongly encourage all who do not currently have spyware protection to install and run this program.

NetXL offers:

• Accelerator. Turbo charge your existing Broadband (DSL) connection. We believe this to be marketing hype, as we did not notice any difference when using a DSL connection. You have the option of disabling this feature.
• Anti-Spyware. It discovers, blocks and deletes all kinds of spyware, adware and other rogue software that infect at least 70% of home computers. It also automatically updates every time you connect to the Internet.
• Pop-up Blocker. It blocks those annoying pop-ups and pop-unders. Ads and pop-ups will be blocked in your browser and in many popular applications, such as Kazaa, Morpheous, iMesh, Gator, etc.
• Email Accelerator. Access to your email has never been faster.
• Ad Blocker. It blocks most banner ads. You may select to block any unwanted animations too -- no more annoying flashing.
• Parental Control. It uses a "Black List"/"White List" concept to allow you to build a “walled garden” for your children on the Internet.
• Privacy. Maximize your Internet privacy and review and control start-up applications all with this simple tool.

Issues:

1. If a firewall is installed on your computer, you must permit/grant access to the accelerator service when your firewall application prompts you to do so.
2. The accelerator feature may prevent web pages from being displayed. If this happens, uncheck the "enable acceleration" box in the NetXL settings.
3. The ad blocker blocks the weather display on the mvdsl.com home page. If you want the weather display, uncheck the "remove banner ads" under the ad blocker tab.
